Good news: The intern at The Bent Agency requested that I send the first ten pages after I sent my query letter--good thing, too; I was starting to think it was broken or just not working!
I'll let you know how it pans out.
Below is my score card of sorts to keep you up to date on my progress:

Forgive me if this has been answered in a previous post. I haven't gone back through the archives yet. But how did you decide who to send just the query to and who to send the first few pages?
I just went by the guidelines that each agent sets; some agents only want the query letter to gauge their interest, others want a sample of the writing and will the give you the benefit of the doubt if the query isn't great.
It's all basically a numbers game; I've got two diametrical opposites that I flip back and forth; I haven't had a personal interaction since Steve Barr at Writers House was intially excited about the sillier of my two offerings (the project fell trough because no one there could wrap their minds around the idea of a strong, funny teen boy character who wasn't learning any serious life lessons, but it shows there's occasionally life on Mars, so keep trying! I'm really late replying to this--see my post on getting back from my Internet hiatus--but thanks for the words of encouragement, Kevin!
